What Does
a Scribe Do?
A medical scribe accompanies a doctor or other health healthcare provider in the patient room, documenting the details in real time so the provider can focus on the patient. Scribes record the patient’s history and physical exam findings, lab and radiology results, procedures, diagnoses, and more.
Electronic health records are required in every practice and hospital in the United States, so doctors need reliable scribes to accurately capture the details of each patient encounter.

The iScribeMD Experience
iScribeMD all started with a small group of emergency medicine physicians back in 2011 and hasn’t stopped growing since.
The company has impacted and helped over 2,400 scribes further their healthcare careers, and hundreds of those scribes went on to pursue a higher education in the medical field. In addition to the clinical experience, plus all the valuable benefits included—such as vision, dental, medical, and 401K contributions—this is an unbeatable growth opportunity.
All newly hired medical scribes complete training through our iScribeMD Academy including online training, classroom training, on site training and EMR training. We want to ensure that our newly minted scribes are 100% confident and comfortable in the material that they have learned prior to working on their own.
For those interested, we offer several opportunities for leadership including promotions to bedside trainers, lead scribes, educators, lead trainers and more.
Our management team conducts chart audits and performance reviews regularly for quality assurance purposes. We believe in ongoing training and continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to make the scribe experience more effective.
We offer our team several opportunities outside of a clinical setting to relax and build on team camaraderie.
